Schedules and Information for U15 Recreation

Emails will not be sent to individuals - all times and information will be through the website.

Registration begins June 1 of the current season and ends July 31.  Players may be put on a waitlist if there are not enough goaltenders and will be put on a waitlist after July 31 of the current season.

Start up for U15 recreation will be mid-September.  Monitor the website for updates.

If you have interests that might take you away from your participation or commitment to your hockey team, make the right choice be honest about how much you want to play on a team sport. Decisions you make will affect your team. 

Players will be expected to participate in team practices.  Players who do not participate in team practices may be subject to restrictions on participating in league games and or tournament games.

Coaches will monitor team practice participation.

Teams will participate in NERHL, not All Peace.  There will be some travel for league games, Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Fort Nelson and possibly Tumbler Ridge.  League fees are paid by FSJMHA all other costs are born by parents or guardians.

NERHL is a non-body checking league.  Teams may participate in two out of town team tournaments which will be decided by coaching staff and U15 Coordinator.  All costs are paid by parents or guardians.

How are players picked for teams?

  • Players will be put in Groups (information for Groups will be on the website) and evaluated.
    • Once evaluated Head Coach and U15 Coordinator will work together to make teams.
    • There will be round robin play and player adjustment after games are completed.
  • There is no process that is 100%.

Hockey Gear

  • Jerseys and socks are provided, and jerseys must be returned at end of season.
  • FSJMHA has goaltender gear if you are interested contact vpoperations@fsjminorhockey.ca

Are there expectations for parents?

  • Mandatory team meeting by November 15 of current season as per BC Hockey.
  • Each team will require two HCSP volunteers, team manager, jersey parent.
  • Please be a positive influence for all players on the team.
  • NERHL commissioner will fine any parent or team for verbal abuse of officials.

 

Verbal abuse of officials, coaches, opposing players or your own team is not acceptable behavior. If you are frustrated, remove yourself from the Arena before you have an outburst which will embarrass yourself, your child, and your Minor Hockey Association.

 

Volunteers:

  • Volunteer opportunities include: Coach, Team Manager, and HCSP (Safety Person)
  • If you're interested in volunteering for one of these positions:
    • Register online through your Spordle Account (add yourself as a participant and register as bench staff then list the volunteer position you're interested in)
    • Go to Be a Coach | BC Hockey to complete the required courses
