Registrations for 2022-23 Season
FSJMHA REGISTRATION & OFFICE INFORMATION
Office hours will be posted on Facebook, Minor Hockey website and sent to your Division Coordinator.
Registration will open June 01, 2022. Dates for tryouts will be finalized after allocation meeting with City.
FSJ Minor Hockey office will not have regular hours until August 15 of the current season. Hours and information will be posted on Facebook and www.fsjminorhockey.ca

E-Transfer: not available.
Exceptions:
Members who would like to register on paper due to KidSport, Jumpstart program or 3 plus family members.
- Email office@fsjminorhockey.ca or registrar@fsjminorhockey.ca and have a form emailed to them.
- Printed forms and payment are to be put in FSJMHA drop slot underneath the big window of office prior to the tryout or recreation deadline, with payment as stated below or emailed with CC information.
- E transfer not accepted.
- KidSport or Jumpstart applicants will only receive $300.00 for registration
- Fees above the 300.00 are to accompany paper form or emailed with CC information.
Deadline for Recreation Registration, August 14, midnight.
Late Registration for Recreation.
- Recreation players registering after deadline will be placed on a waitlist.
- Number of teams will be dependent on registered goaltenders and coaching staff.
- U7 and U9 will play cross ice and half ice hockey as per Hockey Canada guidelines.
- U11, U13, U15 and U18 recreation teams will participate in the District North East Rural Hockey League.
- There will be some travel within the district, (Taylor, Tumbler, Chetwynd, Dawson, Clearview, and Fort Nelson).
- Clearview and Taylor Minor Hockey not hosting a specific Division due to low numbers will notify FSJ Minor Hockey and FSJ will accommodate those players after fees and forms have been received.
- Deadline to accept out of town recreation players TBD.
Variations outside of these methods of registration will not be accepted.

Late Registration for Tryouts
- Not be accepted.
- Do not call the office and ask for an exception.
- There will be no guaranteed minimum amount of tryout times.
- Competitive teams will be dependent on registered players/goaltenders/coaches.
U11 Development Team - 2012/2013
FSJ Members only.
- $ 80.00 tryout fee plus registration fee of $400.00. E transfers not accepted.
- U11 Development team may participate with All Peace League or be a tournament team for the season.
- 1 team.
- Register through RAMP.
- Hockey Canada does not recognize U11 as a carded team.
- Players must live within the FSJMHA boundaries to participate in tryouts for U11 Development.
- Players released from U11 Development tryouts will participate in Recreation with District League
U13 Tier 2 and or Tier 3 Team - DOB 2010/2011
There will be no guaranteed minimum amount of tryout times.
Competitive teams in each division are dependent on registered players/goaltenders/coaches.
Players will have extensive travel if participating on a competitive team and will participate in the U13 Northern Alberta Hockey League or U13 All Peace Hockey League.
FSJ Members
- $80.00 tryout fee for U13 plus registration fee of $425.00 for FSJ members.
- Register through RAMP.
- Players must tryout for U13 Tier 2 then be released to U13 Tier 3 tryouts.
Non FSJ Members
- If players do not have a carded U13 team in their home MHA, they may tryout with FSJMHA.
- $80.00 tryout fee for U13 for non FSJ members.
- Players must tryout for U13 Tier 2 then be released to U13 Tier 3 tryouts.
- Players are to be registered with their home MHA for insurance purposes until teams are picked.
- To register for tryouts go to www.fsjminorhockey.ca website, select the division you're player is trying out for, fill out the form and credit card authorization for the tryout fee.
- If chosen for carded team registration fee of $425.00 is due immediately.
- Players not chosen will return to their home MHA to be placed with a recreation team

U15 Tracker and or U15 Tier 3 Team - DOB 2008/2009
There will be no guaranteed minimum amount of tryout times.
Competitive teams in each division are dependent on registered players/goaltenders/coaches.
Players will have extensive travel if participating on a competitive team and will participate in the U15 Northern Alberta Hockey League or U15 All Peace Hockey League.
FSJ Members
- $160.00 tryout fee for NEBC U15 Trackers plus registration fee of $425.00.
- Register through RAMP.
- Players (from FSJ) released from U15 Tracker tryouts will automatically go to U15 Tier 3 team tryouts.
- Players may try out for only the U15 Tier 3 team if they choose to.
- $ 80.00 tryout fee for U15 Tier 3 (second competitive team) plus $425.00 for FSJ members.
Non FSJ Members
- Non FSJMHA members may tryout with FSJMHA for the U15 Tracker Zone team.
- Player must be registered with their home MHA for insurance purposes until teams are picked.
- To register for tryouts for non FSJ members, please go to the FSJMHA website www.fsjminorhockey.ca and select the U 15 REP or U15 Trackers tab and fill out the form and credit card authorization to pay only the $80.00/$160.00 tryout fee. Once it is filled out it should be emailed to registrar@fsjminorhockey.ca or office@fsjminorhockey.ca

Dream Lottery Tickets - Minor Hockey Fundraiser
Proceeds from Dream Lottery go directly to ice costs.
Each Minor Hockey player will be requested to sell a minimum of 1 book of tickets.
Tryout Information

www.fsjminorhockey.ca Emails will not be sent to individuals - all times and information will be through the website.
If you have interests that might take you away from your participation or commitment to your hockey team, make the right choice be honest about how much you want to play on a competitive team. Decisions you make will affect your team. Championships are generally through Spring Break. If you are taking a Spring Break vacation play recreation.
What is required to Tryout for a Competitive or Development Team?
- FSJ members must be registered by July 31 midnight of current season.
- Players from other MHA’s must be registered with their home MHA and fill out FSJMHA non member form.
- Forms will be available on the website under Forms and Registration
- There is a non-refundable tryout fee for all players.
- Late tryout requests will not be accepted, please do not ask.
How are players picked for teams?
- All players must attend the higher Tier ice time for U13 and attend all practices and games.
- Players may choose to attend U15 Trackers only or U18 Trackers only.
- Players may choose to attend U15 Tier 3 tryouts only or U18 Tier 3 tryouts only.
- Evaluators who are not in conflict with players on ice will participate in player selection.
- Players are numbered and names are not given to evaluators.
- Last five picks are chosen by the Head coach.
- Coaches are not named until numbers are down to the last five.
- There is no process that is 100% .
And if you are part of the team?
- There will be team fees which are set by each team outside of Minor Hockey fees.
- Minimum two practices a week, one of which could be 6:00 am or 4:00 pm.
- Be prepared to travel, play hockey most weekends, and miss some school days.
- As a Rep Competitive Player or Parent, your behavior on and off the ice reflects on you and FSJ Minor Hockey.
- If you have a concern that your coach or team manager is not able to resolve, PLEASE contact your Rep Director.
Are there expectations for parents?
- Parent Commitment is necessary. There are many jobs for Competitive teams, you will be expected to help.
- It is up to parents to ensure your child arrives at all games and practices on time.
- Punctuality is a sign of respect!!
- It is mandatory that you participate in any allowable fundraising for the team.
Respect the Coaching Staff
- You will not agree with all coach decisions, practice plans and game plans.
- This does not give you the right to interfere.
- Coaching your children off the ice will cause confusion and stress for the player. Let the coaching staff take care of the players on the ice during games and at practice.
- Be a positive influence for all players on the team.
- If you are going to be a constant negative party to the game, on and off the ice ….GO AWAY!
Verbal abuse of officials, coaches, opposing players or your own team is not acceptable behavior. If you are frustrated, remove yourself from the Arena before you have an outburst which will embarrass yourself, your child, and your Minor Hockey Association.
